JaMarcus Russell’s benching in Sunday’s game against the Jets doesn’t mean he’ll lose his starting job. Tom Cable said during his postgame news conference following the 38-0 loss that Russell will remain the starting quarterback for the Raiders.

Packers TE Jermichael Finley injured a knee during the first quarter against the Browns and didn’t return. WR Brett Swain also sustained a knee injury. The Packers said both would undergo more testing Monday.

Texans’ Andre Johnson Hospitalized


Gary Kubiak said Andre Johnson went to a Houston hospital for further examination on a chest contusion that he suffered during the fourth quarter against the 49ers. Johnson, a three-time Pro Bowler, returned for one play after hurting his chest, then came out of the game for good.
